The elegant shape shows the typical silhouette of Awataguchi, with a clear difference between the width at the base and at the tip of the blade. The steel structure (Jigane) is made of finely patterned Ko-itame-Hada, carefully forged, which authentically reflects the high quality of Awataguchi steel.
The hamon (hardening line) shows a straight pattern with nioi (fine hardening line) and nie (crystalline inclusions), in the style of Awataguchi Kuniyoshi. It is deeply burnt and shows active elements within the hardening line (hataraki), including ashi (harder areas that protrude into the soft zone).
The flavour is excellent.

This sword is currently still in Japan. We take over the complete handling (all associated costs are already included in the offered price).

Nihonto – Kuniyoshi Katana Mei (Signatur): Omote-Seite: 国吉作 (Gefertigt von Kuniyoshi) Ura-Seite: 昭和五十四年五月日 (Im Mai Showa 54 (1979)) Informationen über den Schmied: Name: Futakami Kuniyoshi Bürgerlicher Name: Futakami Hisashi Meister Kuniyoshi wurde im Jahr Shōwa 3 (1928) geboren.
