MORITAKA (盛高), 3rd gen., Ōei (応永, 1394-1428), Chikuzen – “Minamoto Moritaka” (源盛高), “Chikushū Dazaifu-jū Hyōe Minamoto Moritaka” (筑州太宰府住兵衛源盛高), “Kongōbyōe no Jō Moritaka” (金剛兵衛丞源盛高), there exists a date signature of the eighth year of Ōei (1401), the above mentioned second signature is an important reference for the production site of the Moritaka line what was Dazaifu (太宰府), a Moritaka blade from the Ōei era has a slender sugata, a bright and clear jiba, an itame mixed with nagare and a suguha with broad nioiguchi in ko-nie-deki and plenty of sunagashi
