KANENORI (兼則), 1st gen., Ōei (応永, 1394-1428), Mino – “Kanenori” (兼則), first name Rokurōzaemon (六郎左衛門), son of Naoe-Shizu Kanetomo (兼友), priest name San´ami (三阿弥), he was the founder of the San´ami school, it is said that he died in the 33rd year of Ōei (1426) at the age of 68, he was active from the end of the Nanbokuchō until the Ōei era, there are tachi and tantō extant, tachi have a somewhat slender sugata, a ko-kissaki and some sakizori, that means the shape is altogether rather slegant, we know tantō in kanmuri-otoshi-zukuri with scarce fukura, the jigane is a dense ko-itame mixed with ko-mokume, ji-nie and chikei, additionally also jifu-utsuri can appear, the hamon is a ko-midare mixed with ko-chōji in ko-nie-deki that is a little slanting, also a ko-gunome-midare mixed with togari-gunome is known, the bōshi tapers and has a long kaeri, the 1st gen.
